In the set they give you 3 highly moisturizing "Natural Lip Luster" pencils plus 2 "Natural Lip Tint" pencils that are meant to act kind of like a stain and give you long-wearing color. I found the tints to be nice and moisturizing, too. And all of the colors are just sheer enough to look good on any skin tone. The color that you get will depend on the color of your actual lips b/c they are a bit sheer. But I really like that b/c it keeps it looking pretty natural.

This is the first Tarte item I've ever purchased, and I'm really pleased with it. All the colors are really flattering. Some are more pigmented than others and they all have a nice minty zing to them which reminds me of Burts Bee's lip balm (one of my favorites). They are made in the USA and are free of parabens, synthetic fragrances, and phthalates.
Below, for your blog-reading pleasure, are swatches of each shade:
Perky & Swank are the two "Lip Tints" that are long-wearing color. The other three (Glitzy, Flashy, and Dazzled) are "Lip Lusters" that have a bit of shimmer and are highly moisturizing.

:O I looove Perky, and Swank!
ReplyDeleteI really like the lip lusters better. How long do they last? And, is there more of a range of colors? I kind of like the duskier ones - either browner or purpler. (Can you say 'purpler'?)
ReplyDeleteThey last quite a while, although not all the way through a meal. It's not as stain-y as some other stains, like the Revlon Bitten collection or more "marker"-types of stains. I like them for the moisture factor.
ReplyDeleteThere is a larger range of colors for both the lusters and for the tints. Here are the colors available for lusters: http://tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-lipsurgence-natural-lip-luster-lip-tint
